Mary Gorton obtained her paralegal certificate from William Jewell College in 2001 and has been working as an Immigration Paralegal at the firm since September of 2002. Mary assists with the PERM Labor Certification Applications and I-140 Petitions. In her spare time, Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, singing and playing guitar, and reading mysteries.

Mindy Kenney

Mindy Kenney has been with the firm since 2002. She assists with employment and family based adjustment of status applications, including Advance Paroles and EADs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, going to hockey games, and whenever possible, taking scenic trips on the Harley.

Laura spent many years facilitating the business side of corporate partnership contracts for a Fortune 50 company before coming to work as a Case Manager for Bordeau Immigration Law in January 2019. Laura assists with I-140 Petitions, I-485 Applications, Family, and Naturalization cases. In her spare time, Laura enjoys teaching yoga and meditation, reading, hiking, and learning to play the guitar.

Anna graduated from the University of Iowa in 2008 with degrees in Theatre and Art. Since then, she's taken a circuitous route to the Kansas City area, spending time in Los Angeles and Florence, Italy. A member of the team since 2020, Anna is responsible for office management and day to day organizational duties. She enjoys the pursuit of all things creative, be it cooking, painting, or music making.

Amy Goldman graduated from Missouri Western State University in 1996. She has worked for several immigration law offices and in immigration coordinator roles for large Kansas City companies. She primarily assists with H-1B petitions. During a hiatus from the immigration world, she co-founded a local kombucha beverage company. Amy enjoys cooking, playing guitar & singing, playing pickleball, kayaking, and hiking with her dogs.

Starra assists on a variety of cases, with her primary focus on I-140 petitions. When she’s not managing her freelance photography practice she enjoys being active, whether that’s teaching martial arts classes or cruising along local bike trails. In the rare times she has a free moment, she can be found exploring local cafes or listening to Taylor Swift.

Kathy Burke-Thomas

In 2018 Kathy joined the firm on a part-time basis, following her retirement from AT&T as a project manager. She has helped prepare H-1B, Naturalization, and family cases, and is currently responsible for bookkeeping and INS Zoom software support. Having visited extended family in Australia, Asia and Europe, she has a love of world cultures and especially food. In her spare time Kathy enjoys bicycling, playing pickleball, and bagpiping with KC St. Andrew Pipes & Drums.
